Be Local NC volunteers, Terry Nolan and Sara Nelson, have been writing a wonderful series on our local producers.
Raindrop Retreat operates as a permaculture farm on about 5 acres, selling through Community Supported Agriculture shares and local farmers markets.
Jodar Farms operates as a poultry Community Supported Agriculture and will begin selling at the downtown Larimer County Farmers’ Market, which starts June 26. Aaron Rice is filled with entrepreneurial spirit and passion for providing locally raised wholesome poultry.
Sun Fox Farm Anthony specializes in heirloom vegetable varieties not frequently grown, including tomatoes, watermelons, cantaloupes, other melons and eggplant. Sun Fox Farm sells most of its produce at an on-site farm stand.
Grant Family Farms Starting in 2007, Grant’s CSA has grown from 125 members to more than 3,000 last year. With such growth, Sari Schauer of Grant Family Farms is a busy woman.
Happy Heart Farm Community involvement is important to the Stensons. Acting on that commitment to community, Happy Heart Farm provides the community with a variety of programs.
Windsor Dairy is Colorado’s only certified organic and 100 percent grass-fed Grade A dairy. Meadow Maid Foods After exploring various cattle production methods, Cindy and Mike Ridenour realized grass-fed beef was the way to go for nutritional and ecological reasons.

Sylvan Dale Ranch is one of the West’s best-known dude ranches. In addition, Sylvan Dale has a major commitment to conservation and long-term preservation. They also raise and sell grass-fed beef directly to the public. Ela Family Farms For three generations, the Ela Family has been bringing fruit to Fort Collins and the Front Range. Relationships with customers are the backbone of Ela’s business
Wolf Moon Farms supports community building and awareness of local farming. It’s a CSA model that allows families to participate closely with a local farmer.
Boyles Farm vision is to create a diversified farm that grows clean, nourishing food for their family and others in Northern Colorado.
