In honor of Plaid Friday (Nov. 25), we will be hosting a Plaid Friday Marketplace at Art Lab (239 Linden St), 10am – 4pm. We want to offer a location for local businesses (mostly without storefronts) to showcase and sell their goods with us to celebrate Plaid Friday. We have limited space, so please contact us soon if you are interested. We are looking for businesses that would blend well with Akinz’s variety of products, such as jewelry, small gifts, handmade goods, etc. We would also love to hear from interested bakeries for pastries/ beverages. If you are interested in participating, please e-mail suzanne@akinz.com with information about your business (pictures are helpful or a link to your website) and what items you will be selling. We will jury the interested businesses and get back to you by November 1st.
We will be making some of these shirts ahead of time for business owners to buy at a discount to wear or sell on Plaid Friday. We thought that if all the businesses were wearing the plaid shirts on Plaid Friday (or the week leading up to it) it would help promote the cause….together we thrive. We also will be making tote bags featuring the I Love it Local logo and the Plaid Friday logo that you can sell as reusable shopping bags, give out as a shopping incentive on Plaid Friday in your shop or buy for yourself. These shirts and bags will be available by preorder. Pre-order and pay by November 1st to pick up by the 14th. Pre-order and pay by November 15th to be able to pick up by the 22nd.
