Application for Board Members
Be Local Northern Colorado is seeking to add 2-3 community members to its volunteer Board of Directors and is currently seeking interested candidates.
New Board members will be elected in the spring of 2012 and will serve for 2-3 year terms, which may be renewed. The Board members are expected to attend bi-monthly meetings of the Board of Directors and to be available for committee meetings in the off-months.
In addition, during 2012 Be Local NC plans to engage in a comprehensive strategic planning process, which will involve extra effort and may include one or two overnight retreats.
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Be age 18 or over; and
- Be a resident of Northern Colorado; and
- Be an owner or employee of a member business of Be Local Northern Colorado; or
- Be a community member (Friend of Be Local) at the time of your application
Be Local NC is especially interested in candidates with the following types of experience:
- A background in community giving, social enterprises and philanthropy;
- An owner or CEO of a member business who has not previously been highly active with Be Local NC;
- A person with experience and expertise in the development of non-profit organizations during their post-founding developmental period and beyond; or
- A person with experience in developing and leading an organization with significant volunteer involvement.
