I support Be Local NC and the development and networking of local production/distribution of goods and services in an effort to create a sustainable local economy that harbors creativity and a sense of community.

I became affiliated with Be Local NC through my interest in the local food movement.

Local organic food has been a very important component of my recovery from chronic health issues. Years as a Holistic Health Practitioner reinforced my experience with the healing powers of fresh whole foods. I believe that we could make significant improvements in our collective health by increasing both production and access to locally and sustainably produced foods.

I am happy to be part of the Be Local NC staff. I feel fortunate to have a job that supports the issues that I am passionate about. It is great to be able to move beyond the area of food into the larger issues of a living economy.

I enjoy growing, cooking, and eating good food. I also like to spend time hiking, kayaking, sewing, reading, listening to good music and being with my wonderful family. I am drawn to natural beauty and hope to visit all of our national parks.
